Friends of Trelawnyd V.A School

This association is an organisation that helps to raise additional funds for the school. All parents and friends of the school are eligible to be members . and meetings are held every half term.

Some of the fundraising activities that are organised annually are:

• Bingo night
• Treasure hunt
• Discos
• Own clothes days
• Quizes

SCHOOL COUNCIL

The school council is elected annually with representatives from each year group from year 1-6.  Each candidate has to make an election speech and persuade pupils to vote for them.  The council members work with Mrs E Parry and make decisions about changes to the playground,curriculum and other activities.

The ECO Council:

The School also has an Eco council who work to look after the school environment , to save energy and resources and to raise awareness of environmental and Global issues. The Eco council update the Governing body on the activities they have carried out and the impact for the school.

 In a recent survey of parents we found that virtually all of those who responded were happy with the collaborative learning projects that we have introduced  this year. Pupils from year 1 to year 6 have worked together to find out about the local environment and also to write and produce their own Christmas plays which were a great success. We are planning a further project for the summer term which pupils will help us to choose.
